Stamp Hill – An outstanding horse with ability to burn, he produced the 2 year old performance of the season at Amman Valley last year clocking a time of 1.59.40. He started the season with 3 penalty free wins but then lost his first 3 races in the 3 year old division finishing 2nd in his heat and final at Appleby the 4th in his heat at York. He managed t...o put it together in fine style in the final though clocking a very impressive 1.58.90 from the 7 hole. Followed up with a very straightforward win in the 3 year olds at Aberystwyth and looks the one to beat on the back of 2 good wins.
Ayr Majesty – Winner of the Breeders Crown and Sire Stakes as a 2 year old, he has already won 3 times as a 3 year old including a division of the 3 year old championship at Aberystwyth. Was also very impressive at York when winning a handicap race in 1.59.90, this son of Daylon Alert is a very classy individual and connections will not fear anyone in the race especially if the draw is kind to them.
On Top Girlcharmer – Winner of 3 races early in the year, he broke stride in bad conditions at Appleby but didn’t put a foot wrong in the 3 year old final at York when finishing 2nd to Stamp Hill clocking a time 2.00.10. Very talented individual who is more than capable of winning this race. Another plus for him is that he won’t have as far to travel as the opposition as he is trained locally be Stevie Lees who I’m sure would love nothing more than to win a big race on the TV at his local track.
Rhyds Solution – Winner of the 3 Year olds heat and final at Appleby in poor conditions, he has really progressed this season and is another live contender, after recently clocking 2.00.20 at York. Mick Lord and Rhyds horses have had massive success in juvenile races over the last few years in the UK and Ireland, right his horse off at your peril.
Chinatown Kolt – Clocked 1.58 at Portmarnock but has yet to win on his travels to the UK. He was the more fancied of the Meadowbranch horses in the heats at York but was upstaged by his stablemate Meadowbranch Ash. His Sire Kikikolt won heats and a final here as a 3 year old and was also won the Crock of Gold so he’s bed for the job. Would have a massive chance if he could produce his Irish form for powerful connections.
No Regrets – Non Runner
Vyrnwy Terror – Good young horse with 2 wins to his name for 2013 so far. His current lifetime best is 2.06 though so would need to find a good few seconds to feature. Trainer has been in good form though and he wouldn’t be coming if he didn’t think he could give a good account of himself.
Mill Road – Won his maiden at the track in 2.07 in May and followed up with a win at Walton. His sire Hasty Hall has been the dominant sire of juvenile champions in recent years but this fella has a bit too find to trouble the main protagonists.
Frisco Fiddler – Winner of big 2 year old race in Ireland last year along with the BHRC pacing futurity beating Ayr Majesty in a time of 2.02. No wins in 2013 as a 3 year would be a concern, however still clocked a respectable 2.01 in the final at York though so retains plenty of ability. Trained by Alan and Theresa Haythornwaite who have a fantastic record in these race with Ladyford Ideal and Long Slow Kisses.
Coalford Chief -2 wins for 2013 including a very impressive clock of 2.01.60 at York. He has recently changed hands and connections would not be making the journey from the North East if they thought they were without a chance. His sire Coalford Laag has produced many juvenile champions.
